Welcome to On The Road Pics

On The Road Pics is the home of quality travel and outdoor photography.

My name is Ian Nellist and I specialise in high quality images of the Great Outdoors across the world. I am passionate about travelling and I have love photography.

On these pages, you find lots of images that I have taken while travelling. The emphasis is on landscapes, nature, animals, and architecture . You will also find the occasional lifestyle image.

To view the images, go to Galleries where the photos are grouped, clicking on the picture of your choice will open another page with all the images. One or two of the galleries have so many images that I have included a sub grouping page.

In the galleries you are able to see pictures from, the plains of the Masai Mara in Kenya to the cities of Paris,Havana, Timbuktu and Las Vegas From the deserts of Namibia to the mountains of the Himalayas.

I live on the edge of Snowdonia in North Wales,U.K. so I often take my camera out in the mountains of Snowdonia, the beaches and countryside of the Lleyn Peninsula, the steam trains of the Ffestiniog railway and the gardens of Portmeirion and the castles of Criccieth, Harlech, Caernarfon and Conway. I also venture into England so there are also images of Chester, Liverpool and the plague village of Eyam.

New Banner

I have recently changed all the top banners on the site from a image of the island in the centre of Paris to one of the Salar de Uyuni salt flats in Bolivia.

Coming Soon

I've just made a short trip to Normandy to look at the D Day memorials and history. This was a really great trip to some sites that were pivotal in the Second world war.

I've just come back from Morocco on a trip called ''South to the Sahara''. A really fantastic trip some off road driving trips and lots of walking. Tea with some nomads high in the mountains and walking on the tops of the sand dunes at Erg Chebbi were amongst the highlights. Bit of a shock to come back from the clear blue skies of the Sahara to rainy Wales though!
